The Cross Product

Calculus: Multivariable, McCallum, Hughes-Hallett, et al.
September 3, 2019

The dot product gives us a way to multiply two vectors to give a scalar value. A second multiplication, called the cross product, can be defined between two vectors (in 3-space) to produce a third vector that is mutually perpendicular to the original two vectors.

This worksheet introduces the cross product of two vectors, giving both algebraic and geometric definitions, and summarizes some of its properties and applications.
